
What is Solarpunk?
Solarpunk follows the trend of using the suffix -Punk as a way to fit into the world of Sci-Fi, specifically taking notes from it's main predecessor's Cyberpunk and Steampunk. Solarpunk is a more modern science fiction genre born out of a larger societal drive and focus on sustainability, first being coined in 2008. Solarpunk aims to be the antithesis of the aesthestics and beliefs of it's predecessor's focusing on a positive future in which humanity bands together to save the world, a very different story then the often dark and pessimistic notions found in much of the last decade's Science Fiction media. | Continue to Article |

Biomes in Sci-Fi
Biomes are an integral to most all settings of sci-fi whether they're on a near-future Earth or on a world distinctly it's own. Biomes make a world feel unique and expansive helping make everything feel more alive. For example if a story is taking place on a planet similar to Earth make sure to use a vareity of common biomes found on Earth, tundra, desert, plains, etc. and maybe even add in a few distinct things like a floating island or a city in the ocean, just to give it a unique twist. | Continue to Article |
